Merry Christmas With Great Outdoors

I am an outdoorsy sort of person. The sea calls my soul and the mountains fill me with wonder. The new Stampers Anonymous Great Outdoors stamp set, by Tim Holtz, is one of my new favorites! With it, I created a forest, using 6 different colors of Distress Ink.

I used Twisted Citron and Crushed Olive for the trees that are furthest away, misting the inked up stamp before stamping down. The middle ground trees are Mowed Lawn and Peeled Paint, with the closest trees being Pine Needles and Forest Moss. I like the depth it gives to my forest. I fussy cut the deer and popped it into place. For the card base, I used the wood slice and Gathered Twigs, and inked the edges with the same. A wrapping of twine and a sentiment finished off the card.

December Daily Album With Kaisercraft

It's almost time to enjoy all the wonder of Christmas and what better time than when there's a new baby in the house. I have a new grandson and the Kaisercraft Frosted collection is a fun, vintage line.

I used my Silhouette Cameo and a couple of mini book album cut files to make my book base. I first resized them to fit a normal sized photo, then cut out using kraft paper. I like the kraft card stock. It has a stiffness to it and makes a really nice base and can go with any paper. I also like the rustic look of the kraft.

I used Gathered Twigs Distress Ink to ink up the edges. This gives the pages some depth by creating a shadow.

I cut out the mat pieces, slightly smaller than my base. My albums included matting cuts with the album.

I used the Cinch to bind my book together. I just love this tool! You can use it for so many things. These albums came with holes for rings or ribbon, but I love bound books, so I simply delete the holes before sending to my Silhouette.

Now for the fun part! I used the collectables that went along with the Frosted paper. I am giving this album to my son and daughter in law, so I wanted to keep it simple. I added just a few die cut items that are open on two sides and will allow a photo to tuck in.

The finished book and a few examples of the inside. Mom is so excited about adding memories of their son's first Christmas!

Wanna '17

Every July a group of scrapping friends gets together to hang out for a long weekend to get our scrap on and hit Craft Warehouse. There is lots of laughter, creating, and shenanigans.

To make this CSI case layout, I used a Gelli print, made with my Gelli plate as the background, layering lots of paint with my brayer and through a stencil. Then I added a few pieces of patterned paper to act as an anchor for my photo group. I hung a banner of stars, using Unity's Happy Holidays, strung with a bit of twine. I stamped out, then fussy cut some flowers, using Unity's No Words Bloom. I added small gems to the center to give some added texture. I finished it off by sprinkling some wooden hearts and enamel dots.

Evidence used: polka dots, something hanging, enamel dots, hearts, sprinkle something.

Testimony is documenting the celebration of friends.
